The academy is a non profit organization offering area boys and girls the opportunity for soccer development the highest level. The Academy is run by soccer professionals making soccer decisions. The academy is run like a business by a professional administration group and overlooked by a board that has the same common goal:
To offer this community the highest level of a soccer training environment, develop players by soccer professionals, create fees that are fair and affordable, promote soccer, offer a scholarship program for families that cannot afford it, develop a feeder system for the Fort Wayne Fever Premier Developmental Teams, High Schools, Universities, Professional Leagues, Olympic Developmental Programs and National programs.
The Fort Wayne Fever Academy
As competitive soccer continues to grow in Fort Wayne, there is an escalating need for an elite Premier Soccer Club that will place Fort Wayne on the map as a power house of player development throughout the Midwest. Based on European academy systems, which have been extremely successful in England, Italy and Holland, the Fever Academy offers an opportunity that is rarely found in the United States.
With one unified direction - to reach the highest level with a consistent methodology applied across all age groups - the Fever hopes to generate the largest possible percentage of elite players out of Fort Wayne. The Fever Academy will provide the right environment for the development of youth soccer players so they may follow in the foot steps of such local players as Sarah Killion (2009, 2010, 2011 Gatorade State Player of the Year, U20 U.S. National Team, 2010 ESPN RISE All-American, ISCA Player of the Year 2010, Starting midfielder at UCLA as a Freshmen), Jamar Beasley (Professional MISL, U-20 national team, First High School player to be drafted to the MLS) and DaMarcus Beasley (Professional - Puebla FC, Hannover FC, Rangers FC, Manchester City, PSV Eindhoven, 3-Time World Cup Player, 2 time MLS All-star, U-17 World Cup Silver ball winner).
Encompassing players from ages five and older, this program offers year-round training and features the technical skills and teaching philosophy of experienced soccer professionals. Players will develop by learning skills and strategies at age appropriate levels. Each academy player will be exposed to the very best coaching, training and facilities that give them the leverage to grow in all aspects.
History
Recognizing that soccer in the Fort Wayne area was growing rapidly and the high level of talent that was around, the idea for an academy style of soccer was formed. Our academy trains together on the same fields with players that have chosen soccer as their main sport. These athletes are dedicated to the team and to becoming the very best they can be at soccer. We have a dedicated performance trainer, a dedicated keeper coach and licensed coaches.
